Dr. Jeff Kaplan, a native of New York (first Queens, then Long Island), graduated from
Cornell University with a B.S. and then earned his D.V.M. from Tufts Veterinary School
(now Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine).
Dr. Kaplan has focused on feline medicine since graduating: He worked at Boston Cat
Hospital for five years before opening Metro Cat Hospital in Brookline, MA. As a practice
owner and eventually, as medical director, he developed a large, loyal following of cat owners and became known for his diagnostic skills and relationships with varied
specialists.
Dr. Kaplan is thorough and thoughtful, working with complex variables until he arrives at a sound diagnosis. He is accustomed to listening to clients, allowing them to express their emotions, and explaining diagnoses and treatment options. He has a strong work ethic and is dedicated to practicing quality veterinary medicine.
Outside work, Dr. Kaplan spends time with his wife, his four adult children, his “fifth child,” a Yorkie named Mocha, his cockatiel Citrine, and each fish in his 90-gallon tank.
